install / one command
Install CloseYourIt on your server
One command asks for a domain, an email for the certificate and your mail server, then starts everything.
$ curl -fsSL https://get.closeyour.it | sudo bashWhat you need
Before you run the command.
- A Linux server with 4 GB of memory (for example a Hetzner CX22)
- A domain pointing to the server
- Ports 80 and 443 open
- An SMTP server to send email (optional at first)
What the command does
In order, from start to finish.
- 1Checks Docker and installs it if missing
- 2Asks for domain, certificate email and SMTP
- 3Generates every secret key in /opt/closeyourit
- 4Starts app, worker, PostgreSQL and Caddy
- 5Turns on HTTPS and the nightly backup
After the install
Four commands to keep it in order.
closeyourit update- backs up, installs the new version and goes back by itself if something fails
closeyourit backup- saves the database now; the nightly copy keeps the last 7
closeyourit enable ingest- turns on the ingest gateway that queues data when the app is slow
closeyourit doctor- checks disk, certificate, version and backups
